Clubhouse and facilities are now fully open
What is the BBCSCA?
The BBCSCA is a charitable organisation with the objective of promoting and facilitating the advancement of amateur sports and recreation and other charitable purposes for the general benefit of the inhabitants of Berkswell, Balsall Common and Temple Balsall.
There are a number of sports clubs that currently sit under the BBCSCA including tennis, cricket, hockey, running and sailing (more detail can be found in the links section). In addition to facilitating amateur sports provision the BBCSCA also manages the Lant clubhouse and grounds situated on Meeting House Lane. The Lant facility currently provides a base for a number of child and youth groups.
The Lant Club
The clubhouse facilities and grounds can be found on Meeting House Lane in Balsall Common. As well as providing a home for the cricket club and the tennis club, the clubhouse provides large multi-purpose space that can be used for a variety of community activities (including a full bar, separate kitchen facility and changing facilities upstairs).
The facilities are available to hire for private functions, meetings, workshops session or regular events. Fireworks Extravaganza - 28 October
One of the major events of the year at the Lant is the forthcoming Fireworks Extravaganza, organised by our friends at Balsall Common Lions.
This year this is being held on SATURDAY 28 OCTOBER 2023 with gates opening at 1730.
As well as the main event fireworks presented by PYRO 2000, we will have fire eaters and displays, and a wide range of food and drink avaialble from vendors including Burning Plough (sausages, pulled pork and slow cooked brisket), Victorian Jackets (baked potatoes), Indian Street Food by Mookie and Susanna's Churros, together with hot coffee and chocolate options from Coffee Express.
There will be a full bar available, and the Rugby World Cup final will be shown from 2000 onwards.
